Apparatus: Shown above. Graph paper on transparency, Graph paper. electrodes(2 cylinders
and two bars, 1 u-shape), 2 stainless alligator clips, plastic sheet, pyrex baking dish, 2 paper
clips, thick cables (Red and Black), wires. For probe use a stretched giant paper clip.

For power use AC on Low voltage power supply. You might be interested in using a function
generator at Sin wave, 1kHz. However our function generator output magnitude may not be
sufficient .
Use tap water with voltage 6V-8V. Higher value encourage chemical reactions at the
electrodes. Make sure to use only stainless steel alligator clips (L 5th shelf)
For electric field measurement Rob is currently working on probe.
When finish the lab throw the water in the baking dish. Cleaning the electrodes: soak/boil in
oxalic acid (or cranberry or rhubarb juice) . Lime-A-Way available at a grocery store also
works.
