Generation Scotland aims to:
 Recruit a prospective, intensively phenotyped family
based cohort and associated control sample sets
 Identify genetic contributions to complex disease &
related quantitative traits
 Apply genomics, bioinformatics and systems biology
to public health for the diagnosis, prognosis &
prevention of ill health
 Act as a platform for translational research, rational
drug discovery & clinical trials
Generation Scotland aims to create more
effective treatments based on gene knowledge.
