ESPA’s History • Launched in 2006 as part of the UK Government’s Living with Environmental Change Programme (LWEC). • Design informed by six situation analyses. • 11 Strengthening Research Capacity projects implemented during 2009. • 28 PPD and 18 Framework projects funded in 2010. • ESPA Directorate operational from 1 Sept 2010 • AO for consortium projects launched 17 Sept 2010. • Consortium projects to be funded in 2011. Building Partnerships • Many of the funded ESPA Partnership and Project Development projects currently do not cover the scale of ambition and potential impact expected from the September 2010 AO. • Use this workshop to meet other potential partners. • Consider building linkages with the ESPA Framework projects. • Discuss your ideas with the Directorate. • Please use the ESPA partnership site www.esi.ac.uk/espa/collaboration.
