Resources and Infrastructure Meeting

In attendance: Joelle Ruthig, Adam Kitzes, William Sheridan, Bradley Rundquist (College of Arts &
Sciences’ non-voting representative)
Absent: Joshua Bronfman, Jefferson Vaughan (submitted rankings and comments)
Matters arising:
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss proposals submitted to three College of Arts & Sciences’
Research/Creative Activity Initiatives, namely the Faculty Grant Writing Initiative, the Applied Research
to Address the State’s Critical Needs Initiative, and the Undergraduate Research/Creative Activity Fund.
The Committee’s input was summarized into funding recommendations that will be submitted to Dean
Storrs.
The Committee reviewed each proposal individually. Brad Rundquist took notes, answered questions,
and shared comments provided by Jefferson Vaughan.
Three proposals asking for $15,000 total (three course releases at $5,000 each) were submitted to the
Faculty Grant Writing Initiative. The Committee recommended that two of the three be funded:
