Tait II - NESC ACI 30/1/04 3 Who needs what from QCDOC ... Liverpool Chris Michael Paul Rakow • • Plans to continue work with Wilsonesque configs for: – Exotic gluonic states: singlets/hybrids – unstable particles – OZI – Heavy/lights, decays • Possible twisted mass Wilson (also CMcN) Plans to work with valence overlap fermions – nucleon structure • Interested in dynamical OF when it comes – nucleons etc • Working with BJ and RH on CWilson QCDSF: TAO/APESE → SZIN – (see elsewhere) – as above – Chiral PT matching etc • Advise on staggered singlet project Tait II - NESC ACI 30/1/04 4 Who needs what from QCDOC ... Liverpool Stewart Wright Craig McNeile • • Singlet project • Decays • Heavy-light • Large Nc with Harvey Meyer • Helping everybody out • Grid for QCDOC data • .... and much more (see later) Would work with hadron measurements from any light quark configs (e.g. Asqtad): – Light quark hadrons and chiral PT, masses fπ – Hadron decays, all-to-all – Heavy-light, Bs Tait II - NESC ACI 30/1/04 5 Glueballs and Singlets on Asqtad configs Liverpool V20x64, β=6.81, am=.03 • See Steve Miller’s talk at MILC/UKQCD Glasgow meeting • Steve has measured scalar (|p|=0,1,..) glue correlators on all significant MILC configs at a = 0.125fm and 0.09fm. • Gball masses plausible provided amq not too small (figs) • Mixing? Decays? • Need scalar (meson) correlators for full analysis Tait II - NESC ACI 30/1/04 Heavy and light plots here. V20x64, β =6.76, am=.007 6 Scalar glueball data (from Craig McNeile and Steve Miller) Liverpool Tait II - NESC ACI 30/1/04 7 Scalars and disconnected contributions Liverpool • • • • • • Steve with help from Balint, Eduardo F, et al has got a working code in Chroma/QDP for measuring connected meson correlator on Asqtad configs (MILC then QCDOC). Steve has relevant scalar operators as well as ‘pions’. Taste violations Disconnected correlator code for taste singlets ‘ready’ Tests on cluster performance on-going. Will use generic fitting code by Craig (XML formatted data) Tait II - NESC • Plan is to get preliminary results from MILC configs (thesis material) • ‘Long’ QCDOC run (see CTHD talk) for improved stats may be critical for real physics, especially if mixing/decay is as complicated a phenomenon as expected. • Pushing new ground here, so any result is interesting. • Along the way, will get eta’ data (c.f. Verkataraman & Kilcup?) ACI 30/1/04 8 Potentials and r0, r1 Liverpool • Use upsilon splitting for ‘gold-plated’ scale setting • Potential and r0, r1 still useful. • Existing potential code (CM + ACI hacks) is serial F77 • Current structure is memory hungry: V24X48 uses 1.7Gb • Rewrite for 403x90? • Better: use Chroma/QDP for portability, I/O features etc • SZIN has fuzzed/blocked W-loops → ‘recode’ → Chroma • For V(r) fits need Zym. Improved glue lattice coulomb (MILC?) • No hurdles except time (ACI?) Tait II - NESC ACI 30/1/04 9 CONCLUSION Liverpool Liverpool is gearing up .. Tait II - NESC ACI 30/1/04 10
