New GoEd modules were created to help
faculty and candidates manage programs
better. Data about prospective students
and why they did or did not choose AU is
now tracked. These data are being used to
more effectively recruite for Fall 2014. |
Adjunct faculty were able to submit their
evaluation report through GoEd in Summer
2014.
Transcript analysis system was created in
GoEd. The analysis also took place before
admission instead of after acceptance.
Some candidates were arriving at
graduation not being able to pass Praxis I,
and thereby, not graduating. Candidates
can now not be admitted conditionally if
they do not have passing Praxis I exams.
There was a discrepency between the
elementary and secondary practicum
experience requirement. The requirements
are now the same.
The portfolio was not being treated as a
developmental process. The current
director of the office of teacher education
now requires portfolio entries to be
submitted and reviewed by Practicum
Supervisors before entry into Student
Teaching
The new director of teacher edcuation
implemented this practice to have more
evidence of candidates' mastery of the
knowledge, skills and dispoisitions to move
to student teaching
