1). The Color-A-Thon Run is May 6th at Marlowe. Sign-In begins at 2:30pm-3:00pm and the Run is
from 3:00pm-4:30pm.
2). Howdy!! Come out to Marlowe’s Round-up on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 6:00pm-8:00pm as
we celebrate another great year of academic success and student growth. Come experience what
our students have been working on all year and see exhibits from the MMS Clubs and Sports
Teams.
Round Up activities include: rock climbing wall and storytelling. Hear the dynamic sounds of the
8th Grade Band and Choir.
Bring a few cans to support the Service Club’s food drive. All donations will receive a raffle ticket
good for gift cards and other various prizes (one ticket per family).
Bring your smart devices for QR Code Treasure Hunt around the building. There are even
chances to win raffle prizes. The first 100 attendees will receive a free cupcake so giddy up
& don’t miss out. Round up the whole family for a rootin’ tootin’ good time on May 19th, 2016.
3). Any 6th or 7th grade girls interested in trying out for Marlowe Cheerleading should attend an
informational meeting on Monday, May 16th from 2:30pm-3:00pm. We will meet in the 8-1
pod, room A101. Tryouts will take place May 24-26.
4). Attention Marlowe Dance Club Members- If you are interested in performing at the
Marlowe Expo, please see Ms. Christensen for an informational letter.
5). Huntley High School Honor Society is collection donations for soldiers. They are in need of
small food items, bathroom needs, reading materials, candy, etc. Items may be dropped off in the
office. Donations collected through May 14th.
6). 8th Grade girls wanting to try-out for Huntley High School Cheer, the dates and times are as
follows: Clinic Dates: April 27th and 28th (3:00-6:00) in East (Main) Gym at HHS
*There will be a bus on the clinic dates only, immediately after school, to transport to HHS.
Try-out Date: May 3rd starting at 5:30pm in the East (Main) Gym.
7). To all 8th grade parents: the 8th grade dance is just a few weeks away!! Our parent planning
committee is busy planning and making decorations. Thank you to those who have made a
monetary donation. Since the dance is a parent run event, we are still in need of funds. Any
monetary donation that you could make would be greatly appreciated. Please drop off
donations to the front office at Marlowe marked “Marlowe PTO”.
If you would like pictures of your child in the slide show that will be shown during the dance,
please email 3-4 pictures of your child to marlowedance@gmail.com. If you have any

8). Good luck to our track team as we play McHenry today, Apr. 26th at 4:00pm. Go Mustangs!
9). There will be rehearsals for Performance Reading every day this week until 3:45pm;
later for MC’s. Reminder there is a rehearsal Cosman Thursday evening.

PARENT ANNOUNCEMENT
If you have the PowerSchool application on your cell phone and have opted in to receive notifications, you
may receive an alert saying your student is absent for certain periods. If your child is absent and you have
already called the absentee line prior to the alert, you do not have to call the absentee line again. Your student's
attendance will be updated. If you have not called in your child's attendance, please call the absentee line at 847659-4711. If you prefer to not receive this attendance alert notification, you can deactivate it through the mobile
app by going to Settings > Notifications > uncheck Attendance; this should cancel the notifications.
