FG-DR&NRR thanks your LS (AVA – LS 031 – E) on aspects for persons with disabilities,
especially in connection with natural and man-made disasters. In our 6th meeting, we appreciated
your information very much and agreed to incorporate your text in your LS into our overview
deliverables (see http://ifa.itu.int/t/fg/drnrr/docs/1308-kgy/out/drnrr-o-0054-20130823draft_overview.docx).
We would like to draw your attention again on our previous LS titled “Study on Emergency
Communication System for Persons with Hearing and Speaking Disabilities” (DR&NRR – LS 13 –
E (ref: DR&NRR-O-25)). It was sent from our 4th meeting in February 2013.
The topic there was related to emergency call arrangement for fire and ambulance that can be used
by persons with hearing and speaking disabilities in Japan. A draft deliverable which introduces
related activities is available at http://ifa.itu.int/t/fg/drnrr/docs/1308-kgy/out/drnrr-o-005420130823-draft_overview.docx. Possibly there are similar studies in other countries on this issue. If
you are aware of such studies and/or systems in this area and let us know, FG DR&NRR would
appreciate it.
