Thomas Hsiao

Thomas Hsiao is an adult beverage industry executive with nearly 20
years in leadership roles at industry icons such as E&J Gallo,
Charmer Sunbelt Distributors, and Casa Vinicola Zonin. Prior to
joining Perfect Brands’ executive team, Thomas was the President
and founder of HSIAO International, Inc., a company that specialized
in emerging products and markets. The two major sectors HSIAO
International operated in were craft alcohol brand development and
green technologies. With it's corporate headquarters centrally
located on the eastern seaboard of the United States, in the growing
metropolitan city of Charlotte, in two short years HSIAO International
became a major regional player in both sectors.
Thomas’ career as an executive with E&J Gallo started with Premier
Beverage, a Charmer Sunbelt Distributor, in the 90’s based out of
South Florida. After spending almost two years developing the
South Florida premium wine market, growing cases sales by 21%
while increasing revenue by over 27%, Thomas transitioned to the
E&J Gallo corporate headquarters to oversee brand development
and marketing direction. In 2003 he became the company’s
youngest Country General Manager in history; overseeing sales,
marketing, and logistics for the Greater China Business unit. Under
Thomas' stewardship, E&J Gallo’s Greater China case sales grew by
over 40% with a net revenue increase of 50%, all while increasing
operating profits by a staggering 212% and cementing Gallo’s
position both within the region and as the world’s largest winery. In
2011 Thomas joined the Casa Vinicola Zonin executive team as the
Divisional General Manager, where he guided his team to a 36%
increase in overall case sales and over 200,000 cases in the Florida
market alone.
With his extensive experience in Craft Brands and Emerging
Markets, in 2006 Thomas was appointed as the President of the
Executive Board of Advisors at the University of Georgia’s School of
Marketing. Thomas has been a frequent guest lecturer at
Universities both in the U.S. and abroad, as well as a guest speaker
at State Department events hosted by US Ambassadors and
Consulate Generals. In 2015 he was appointed by Charlotte North
Carolina’s city council to it's Business Advisory Executive
Committee, to help steer local legislation to foster industry growth.
Within just a few months Charlotte saw a 160% increase in the
number of local breweries with many more under development.
Thomas currently resides in Charlotte, North Carolina, with his wife
Lauren, their son Harrison, and their two dogs, an Labrador
Retriever and English Bulldog.
