General The fourth meeting of JCA on ICT&CC was held on 25 November 2010 in Geneva under the Chairmanship of Mr. Ahmed Zeddam (Chairman) and Mr. Dave Faulkner (Co-Chairman). The meeting was face to face but some delegates participated remotely. List of participants is provided in Annex A. It includes remote participants. 2. Agenda Doc.31R2 provided a draft agenda. It was approved. 3. Liaison officers and Coordinators Coordinator to IEEE P1823 (Universal power adapter) : It was left open but the Co-Chairman indicated he will look for a candidate. Coordinator to ETSI & EU CoC: Mr. Paolo Gemma (Huawei, China) was appointed Coordinator to GeSI: Mr. Gianluca Griffa, Mr. John Smiciklas and Ms. Daniela Torres were conjointly appointed in order to ensure a permanent representation to the JCA ICT&CC meetings Coordinator to EC/JRC on Code of Conduct: Mr. Paolo Gemma (Huawei, China) was appointed 4. Discussion topics for this meeting Report from coordinators, etc: a) Ahmed Zeddam introduced recent SG5 activities related to ICT and Climate Change (Doc.37) and Dave Faulkner gave a brief report of the last meeting of the JCA ICT1CC held in Rome on September (Doc 30). b) Editor for the document of record (Mr. Franz Zichy (USA)) indicated that a new version will be uploaded shortly. It was indicated that the coordination effort is on-going toward the next COP mainly in methodology area intending to provide L.methodology_ICT_projects to them, so that they can use it within the framework of CDM. It was also indicated that ITU will follow up the progress during the COP-16 which starts next week in Cancun anticipating the close collaboration with them and intending to raise awareness of the role of ICT. d) Coordinator to ITU-D (Mr. Nabil Kisrawi) reported that a new Question on ICT and CC (Q24/2 of ITU-D) was created during the WTDC this year. It was proposed that the contact point from ITU-D be Mr. Jean Pla, Rapporteur of this Question hereafter. It was agreed. e) Coordinator to ISO/IEC JTC 1 (Mr. Yong-Woon KIM) reported on collaboration between ITU-T SG 5 and IEC TC 100 concerning ITU-T L.adapter Phase2 (Doc.36). This issue will be taken care of in Liaison activities. Mr. Han will also help coordination. f) Coordinator to GeSI: Ms. Daniela Torres (GeSI) reported that general assembly was held last week. It was indicated that the coordination on methodology work is going well. Following points were also indicated: (1) GeSI presented new study on methodology and that GeSI wants to submit formally to SG5, (2) related to carbon trust, application guideline was approved by GeSI last week and GeSI wants to coordinate with SG5, (3) concerning the benchmark analysis, for both mobile and fixed network, GeSI wants to submit formally to avoid duplication. Future activities The possibility of a face to face meeting in March/April 2011 timeframe was indicated. This would be in Rome collocated with a workshop on climate change probably from 21 to 24 March 2011, or during the next SG5 meeting in Geneva from 27 April to 5 May. Further details will be provided shortly.
