Experiences of People at Old Homes: A Phenomenological
Exploration

The current study deals with the lifestyles of old people residing in
a place specifically built for them. A phenomenological search is
undertaken for this purpose. A total of ten people had been
interviewed using a semi-structured questionnaire. Purposive
sampling technique is employed in selecting the study respondents.
The findings highlight the reasons of their coming and staying in
such a place, their everyday conditions, their craving for their loved
ones, apart from their advice to the young people in taking care of
their parents. The study offers some suggestions vis-à-vis societal
responsibility and potential areas of further investigations in this
regard.
