Truncated Probabilities, Generalized Fermi-Dirac Entropy,
Truncated Statistical Distributions, and Some Applications

A generalized format of Fermi-Dirac entropy with truncated probabilities is introduced. A
formula for obtaining truncated probabilities is derived and their applications in some well
known statistical distributions are suggested. Furthermore, a simple application of the
truncated probabilities in an investment problem is also suggested. Towards the end, an
extension of the results, obtained in this paper, is suggested under fuzzy environment. It
is expected that the results derived in this paper will also find applications in a variety of
other areas in management.
