This study explores the training needs of lecturers in the field of science and technology, who plan to further study at the PhD level. Using a qualitative approach to analyzing 19 academicians, who work in 7 Public Institutions of Higher Education in Malaysia, this study reveals 8 types of training that needed by the academicians in this context before pursuing studies at the PhD level.
