1). The Color-A-Thon Run is May 6th at Marlowe. Sign-In begins at 2:30pm-3:00pm and the Run is
from 3:00pm-4:30pm.
2). Howdy!! Come out to Marlowe’s Round-up on Thursday, May 19, 2016 from 6:00pm-8:00pm as
we celebrate another great year of academic success and student growth. Come experience what
our students have been working on all year and see exhibits from the MMS Clubs & Sports Teams.
Round Up activities include: rock climbing wall and storytelling. Hear the dynamic sounds of the 8th
Grade Band and Choir.
Bring a few cans to support the Service Club’s food drive. All donations will receive a raffle ticket
good for gift cards and other various prizes (one ticket per family).
Bring your smart devices for QR Code Treasure Hunt around the building. There are even
chances to win raffle prizes. The first 100 attendees will receive a free cupcake so giddy up
& don’t miss out. Round up the whole family for a rootin’ tootin’ good time on May 19th, 2016.
3). Huntley High School Honor Society is collection donations for soldiers. They are in need of
small food items, bathroom needs, reading materials, candy, etc. Items may be dropped off in the
office. Donations collected through May 14th.
4). 8th Grade girls wanting to try-out for Huntley High School Cheer, come out to the East
(Main) Gym at HHS today, May 3rd at 5:30pm.
5). All 8th grade parents: the 8th grade dance is just a few weeks away!! Our parent planning
committee is busy planning and making decorations. Thank you to those who have made a
monetary donation. Since the dance is a parent run event, we are still in need of funds. Any
monetary donation that you could make would be greatly appreciated. Please drop off
donations to the front office at Marlowe marked “Marlowe PTO”.
If you would like pictures of your child in the slide show that will be shown during the dance,
please email 3-4 pictures of your child to marlowedance@gmail.com. If you have any

6). Hola Chicos! El club de español/Spanish Club will meet on tomorrow, May 4th at 2:30pm.
Everyone is invited to attend and participate in our final meeting of the school year and celebrate in
our FIESTA. Please sign-up in the Spanish room - A216.
7). Good luck to Marlowe Track as they compete against Bernotas today at 4:00pm at Bernotas.
8). Come check out the HHS Speech Team this week at 7:00pm on Wednesday or
Thursday evening. This meeting is for 8th grade students and their parents to learn more about
our Nationally Recognized team. The meeting will take place in W1005 at the high school.
Please have your parents’ park in the bus lot and enter the building through door 27.
9). Students please check lost & found for any missing items. Items will be donated in two weeks.
Lost & found items are located outside the library.

10). If you would like to order a yearbook, please do so quickly. There are only a small number of
yearbooks available for sale.
11). The last student council meeting of the year will be held this Thursday in room E101
until 3:30pm. Hope to see you there.
12). Any 8th grader planning to audition for Huntley High School’s speech team needs to see
Mrs. Burkhalter today.
13). HOWDEEEE MUSTANGS! If you are interested in reading a picture book, telling your own
story, or doing a performance reading at the Marlowe Round-up Expo, please sign up in
Mrs. Larson’s room A116. Students will be telling stories around the campfire at this year’s Expo
on Thursday, May 19th from 6:00-8:00 pm. We need lots of reader’s to fill up all the time slots
so Pony Up down to sign up.
14). Looking for a way to get involved? Looking for a way to look good for college? Looking for some
pizza?!! Well, 8th graders, you're in luck! The Future Business Leaders of America of Huntley
High School are inviting YOU to a military appreciation event on Tuesday, May 17th! Check
your email for more information and an RSVP. Take this amazing opportunity to get involved in
Huntley High School and make new friends!! We hope to see you there!

If you have the PowerSchool application on your cell phone and have opted in to receive notifications, you
may receive an alert saying your student is absent for certain periods. If your child is absent and you have
already called the absentee line prior to the alert, you do not have to call the absentee line again. Your student's
attendance will be updated. If you have not called in your child's attendance, please call the absentee line at 847659-4711. If you prefer to not receive this attendance alert notification, you can deactivate it through the mobile app
by going to Settings > Notifications > uncheck Attendance; this should cancel the notifications.
