The Plaza Walking Tour

Instructions
The walking tour begins at Progress Neighborhood Park, located on Parkwood Avenue at Umstead
Street. The tour route and will lead the participant down an approximately one-half mile route on
Parkwood and The Plaza, and the questions will provide a basis for analyzing neighborhood viewpoints about pedestrian and bicycle travel along the corridor.

1. Record your observations for each location on the sheets provided.
2. Think about your experience along Parkwood Avenue from a variety of viewpoints - as a
pedestrian, bicyclist, transit rider, and motorist.
3. There is space for additional notes/observations at the back of the worksheet.
4. Be prepared to share your thoughts with the group along the way!
5. Turn in your worksheet to the tour leader after the tour is finished.
