ADDENDUM NO. 1
Charlotte Douglas International Airport
RFP
Passenger Boarding Bridge Maintenance Services
Addendum #1 Dated May 4, 2016
This Addendum is hereby made a part of the contract documents and specifications of the above
referenced project. All other requirements of the original plans and specification shall remain in effect in
their respective order. Acknowledge receipt of this addendum by inserting its number and date on the
cover page of your proposal.
The following questions were received and answered:
Q – We need to clarify the insurance requirements for Automobile please:
“8.1.5. However, if the Company has access to the Aircraft Operation Area (AOA), all automobile liability
insurance limits shall increase to $5,000,000.00 per accident, combined single limit, each occurrence.”
A – This is correct.
Q – Will the PBB Mechanic need to have their own hand tools?
A – Yes and a service truck.
Q – Will the PBB Mechanic need to have knowledge of the GPU/PC Air?
A – Yes.
Q – Should we expect 40 hour weeks between 10PM to 7AM plus call backs on occasion?
A – Yes.
Q – On average, how many weeks in a month do you anticipate exceeding 40 hours?
A – Rarely, we’ve only required more than 40 hours maybe 2-3 times.
Q – How many people are in this role?
A – Currently 10, soon to be 12. We are looking to hire 1 lead PBB Mechanic through this process.
Q – Will we have an office on site?
A – Yes.
Q – What type of reporting mechanism do you use?
A – Cityworks.
Q – What’s the condition of the DEW Bridges?
A – Dew bridges are in good shape. We currently get our parts through Ameribridge.
Q – Do you have the history of your equipment?
A – Very little. We have no history on the AA Equipment that we will acquire.
Q – Will the PBB Mechanic need to have licensing and/or permits?
A – No.
Q – Do you handle hydraulics in house or send them out?
A – We send them out. We keep a spare available to replace the one we’re sending out for repair.
Q - In any Lease or Use Agreement between the Airlines and the Airport/City, have the Airlines waived
claims for consequential damages against the Airport/City arising from the use of the passenger
boarding bridges? Are there caps or other limits on claims by Airlines against the Airport/City relating to
use or performance of the passenger boarding bridges?
A - The agreements between the signatory airlines and the City are a matter of public record. Any
proposer may request a copy of such agreement by emailing procurement@cltairport.com.
Q - Please confirm that there are no prevailing wage requirements for this project.
A - Correct, there are no prevailing wage requirements for this project.
Q - On page 3, under the Selection Criteria-Staffing, it states that “CLT will consider the plan to provide
necessary staffing and the experience of the individual team members proposed to provide the work”.
During the pre-proposal, it was discussed that CLT would only be requesting one individual for this
project. Please confirm, is CLT looking for just one individual or is CLT looking for a staffing plan to be
proposed?
A – CLT is seeking one individual.
