Application for Graduate Admission
Application
The Office of Graduate Studies strongly encourages the online
submission of the Graduate Application for Admission. Graduate
degree programs have almost instant access to view online
applications; the submission of hard copy applications will slow the
application review process. The application is located at
http://gradstudies.missouri.edu/
Degree and Certificate program applicants
Applicants should send the completed MU Graduate application,
application fee, unofficial transcripts and official scores of required
test (GRE, MAT, or GMAT) to Graduate Admissions, 210 Jesse Hall,
Columbia, MO, 65211.
Academic programs may require additional materials, including a
departmental application, statement of purpose and/or letters of
recommendation. Supplemental materials should be sent directly
to the academic program. Academic program admission
requirements may be found at this link
http://gradstudies.missouri.edu/academics/programs/a-z/
Post-baccalaureate applicants (Non-degree seeking status)
If applying for post-baccalaureate status, the completed graduate
application form, application fee, and official transcripts should be sent
directly to Graduate Admissions, 210 Jesse Hall, Columbia, MO,
65211. No test scores or other supplemental materials are required for
the post-baccalaureate studies program.
Application Deadlines
Deadlines vary among degree programs. Contact your academic
program http://gradstudies.missouri.edu/academics/programs/a-z/
for specific deadline dates.
The Application
Fill out the graduate application form completely and carefully, making
sure the information is clearly readable. Failure to fully complete the
application form will void your admission.
Providing misinformation concerning previous enrollment in other
colleges or universities will also void your admission. Some information
requested on the form is required by Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of
1964, Title IX of the Higher Education Amendments of 1972 and Section
504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and will be reported to the federal
compliance agencies concerned with equal educational opportunity.
We ask for this information in order to keep the records required by the
federal government, and to prevent discrimination on the basis of race,
color, religion, disability, national origin or sex.
Application Fee
A check or money order made payable to the University of MissouriColumbia for the appropriate amount ($65 for domestic/permanent
resident applicants and $90 for international applicants) must
accompany your application. The application fee is non-refundable and
it is not applicable to the educational fee, student activities fee,
computing fee or student health fee.
Transcripts/Mark Sheets
Degree and certificate seeking applicants: Include unofficial
copies of your transcript(s) with your application. If you are accepted
by an academic program, you will then be asked to provide official
transcripts. Please do not send official transcripts to the Office of
Graduate Studies until you have been notified of acceptance by
an academic program.
Post-baccalaureate applicants (Non-degree seeking status):
Official transcripts are required with this application to be formally
admitted.
University of Missouri
Test Scores
The individual graduate programs determine whether or not standardized
test scores such as GRE or GMAT are required for admission. Please
check with your academic program
http://gradstudies.missouri.edu/academics/programs/a-z/ to
determine if scores are required.
This application allows for self-reported scores. If your academic
program http://gradstudies.missouri.edu/academics/programs/a-z/
requires standardized test scores such as the GRE, official test scores
must be sent to the University office directly from the testing service (ETS
code 6875)
