Insect Mania!
What has six legs, three body parts and can be
found just about everywhere you look? Insects!
Campers will explore a world so tiny that they will
need a magnifying glass to see it. Each day, we

Mini Naturalists
Come learn and play with us! Children will be
engaged in the exploration of the natural world
around them through hands-on activities, sensory
based authentic experiences and games. From
exploring a stream to chasing butterflies to resting
under a tree listening to nature, we will have a
grand old time while deepening our connection
with nature. Each camp will have different
activities, but the structure will be the same.

Why is the sky blue? How do birds fly? Curious
children are scientists in the making! We will
encourage your child’s inner scientist with fun

Kayaking, fishing, hiking and fire building
are just a few of the outdoor adventures that
campers will have while discovering the great
outdoors. Campers develop confidence in
nature as green spaces and travel to local nature

This half-day version of our ever-popular Outdoor
Adventure Camp will focus on a different
outdoor recreation activity. Campers will explore
the nature preserve by going canoeing, using a

BSA Merit Badge Workshop Week
McDowell Survival Camp
Each day this week different merit badge
workshops will be offered at beautiful McDowell
Nature Preserve. Choose from nine different
badges. Scouts will work toward badges with
certified counselors. Some badges will require
pre/post work to complete all merit badge
requirements. All badge materials will be
provided. Please bring a bag lunch.

Pre-teens who are ready for bigger adventures
can expect to climb mountains, paddle lakes, cook

Outdoor Survival Camp
Our environment provides everything we
need to survive, as long as we have the skills
to use it! Through fun, engaging activities and
challenges, campers will learn how to work as
a team outdoors. They will learn how to right
an overturned canoe, navigate with a map and
compass, build shelters, cook over a fire, and
much more. This exciting week will be topped
off with a camping experience!

MeckTeens REC Summer Camp
Grayson Skate Camp
A traditional day camp for youth in middle/high
school. (Participants should have completed 6th
grade) Travel with us as we participant in games,
4-H enrichment activities, outdoor play activities,
fitness, field trips, swimming, arts and crafts and
guest speakers. For more information, contact

Centers. No camp on July 4.

hanging out with fellow skaters. Participants

Family Adventure Camp
Explore the great outdoors and the skills you
need to do so...fire building, fishing, kayaking,
and campfire cooking. Then cap it off with a
camp out where we will sing songs, roast s’mores
and take a Nature at Night Hayride before falling
asleep in a private tent with your family. All
gear and meals are provided (lunch: Thurs – Fri.,
dinner: Fri. night, and breakfast: Sat. morning).
Additional family members are welcome to
join us for the Friday evening campfire cookout
and hayride for an additional fee. Registration
required.
