Summer and Fall 2016 Dates and Deadlines This is a tentative schedule of important dates and events throughout the semester. Please note: dates are subject to change. May 2016 Apply for and obtain Passport and Short Term Student Visa Monday, May 2, 2016 Last day to submit $1,000 deposit for Mentorship Program in England Friday, May 13, 2016 Complete the Math Placement Exam To be distributed to students in May. Friday, May 27, 2016 Submit travel forms to the Mentorship Program Office To be distributed to students in mid-May. Mid May – Early June Receive information on class registration and flight information to England You will receive information about class registration and other important registration related documents. In addition, you will receive resources to assist in preparing for your semester abroad. Mid June – Mid July Eagle Summit (New Student Orientation) Several sessions, designed to inform students and their families about academic and campus life at American University, will be held throughout June and July. Mentorship in England students are invited to attend one of the summer Eagle Summit sessions. You also will attend a Pre-Departure Orientation in September 2016 and a Winter Orientation in January 2017 at American University. August 2016 Arrival packet mailed to students to home address Information includes details regarding DC Orientation, orientation in England, and preparing for the semester abroad. Monday, August 29, 2016 Tuition and fees due to American University Thursday, September 22 – Friday, September 23, 2016 Mentorship in England Pre-Departure Orientation Information will be announced in August. Please note the dates provided are tentative at this time. Saturday, September 24, 2016 Students arrive in England (leave evening of September 23 with arrival in Bristol on the 24th) Please note that the dates and times provided are tentative at this time. Sunday, September 25, 2016 Orientation and Welcome Lunch with Bath Spa University College Monday, September 26, 2016 – Thursday , September 29, 2016 Fresher’s Week Experience at BSU and classes begin Friday, October 7, 2016 Last day to withdraw from the program and leave Greece (i.e. last day to drop the program without a "W" recorded on transcript). Students who withdraw from the program after this date will forfeit 100% of their program fees and not receive a refund. Students will also be responsible for their travel arrangements and costs back to the United States/home country. October/November 2016 Receive spring 2017 registration information. Students will receive information from American University concerning spring course registration, AU’s Winter Orientation, and the spring semester schedule. Monday, December 5, 2016 Last week of classes Friday, December 9 – Tuesday, December 13, 2016 Final examinations Wednesday, December 14, 2016 Students travel back to the U.S. or their home country (arrive in the U.S. on December 14) Please note that the dates and times provided are tentative at this time.
