Please complete all Three (3) sections of the application to ensure you are considered for
funding from the Mohamed S. Farsi Foundation (MSFF). Funding is available for two
Mohamed Said Farsi Scholars each academic year.
Submit this form to the School of Professional and Extended Studies International Enrollment
and Student Services Team at: washsem@american.edu. Representatives from the university and
the foundation consider applicants jointly.

Part II: 2015-16 Mohamed S. Farsi Foundation (MSFF) Scholarship Essays
Please complete both essays to be considered for the MSFF Scholarship. Feel free to
submit additional documents with your essay responses, as needed.
A. There has been a lot of change in the Middle East recently, and particularly in Egypt and
Tunisia. How do you see yourself working to improve your country once you have
completed university? Please include how you will work to insure the participation of all
citizens in the decision process and improve quality of life for everyone:

B. The Mohamed S. Farsi Foundation seeks to provide students the opportunity to
participate in the Washington Semester Program with full funding for the entire
academic year. The aim of the foundation is to support students with a demonstrable
financial need, whereby without foundation support, they would not otherwise be able to
study in the United States.
