Important precautions:








Clean the stethoscope ear pieces with an alcohol wipe before and between use
Wear gloves
Disinfect puncture site with an alcohol wipe before taking a capillary blood
sample and leave to dry thoroughly
Puncture the skin and obtain sample of capillary blood using the lancing device
Discard the first drop of blood
Perform the test by touching the tip of the test strip with the drop of blood
Discard the lancing device and test strip in sharps container
Discard gloves, wipes and tissues as biohazardous waste
