Cassie Justine Spalding-Dias, M.D.
Philosophy of Care
Dr. Spalding believes the role of inpatient rehabilitation is to maximize her patients' functioning to
return them home safely, as independently as possible, and to support each patient and family as
they face a new disabling condition. She feels inpatient rehabilitation is a team effort, with the
patient and family serving as the leader of that team.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Spalding provides inpatient rehabilitation for patients with brain injuries, spinal cord injuries,
strokes and other neurologic disorders, as well as orthopedic surgeries or traumas, burns, and
other medical conditions.
She has a special interest in severe traumatic brain injury and works closely with the Neurosurgery
and Trauma departments in early care of the brain injured patient.
Research/Academic Interests
Outside referrals are for inpatient care only and inpatient consultations can be provided by
telemedicine through our tele-health dept.
