Hanne M. Jensen, M.D. Clinical Interests Hanne M. Jensen is responsible for obtaining, storing, testing, and matching blood used at UC Davis Medical Center. She evaluates patients and recommends blood products, including special blood needs required by patients with bone marrow stem cell transplants or antibody problems. She also monitors patients, evaluates laboratory data to catch and correct any adverse transfusion reactions, and assists with difficult surgical transfusions. Jensen writes protocol for transfusion and blood banking procedures at the medical center, and provides orientation to residents from all clinical areas. With special interests in preneoplasia of the human breast and prostate, she conducted research in anatomic pathology, breast physiology, angiogenesis and hormone receptors. She also has investigated breast cancer risk factors, ultrasound imaging of breast tissue, use of ultrasound scattering analyses to identify women at risk for later invasive cancer, and potentially precancerous lesions to human mammary carcinoma.
