Wassim Chourbaji Senior Director, Government Affairs EMENA Qualcomm Inc. Wassim Chourbaji serves as Senior Director for Government Affairs Europe, Middle East and North Africa for Qualcomm. In this capacity, he leads Qualcomm’s regulatory, spectrum and technology policy agenda and engagement with governments, regulators and industry associations across these regions. Wassim is currently chair of the Spectrum Group at DigitalEurope (EU ICT association) and vice-chair of the Communications and Policy Council at Intellect (UK ICT association). Wassim joined Qualcomm in 2006. From 2002 to 2006, he worked for France Telecom / Orange where he headed France Telecom Group Spectrum Office and was in charge of the company spectrum strategy across its businesses and international operations. During that period, he was nominated, by European CEPT administrations, coordinator of ITU World Radio Conference 2007 proceeding on 2.6 GHz 4G band. He was also chair of the Spectrum Group at GSMA Europe. From 2000 to 2002, Wassim served as regulatory manager at Alcatel Space where he worked on US FCC licensing of SkyBridge, an Alcatel global satellite project. Wassim started his career in 1998 as a spectrum engineer at Bouygues Telecom and contributed to 3G spectrum planning and global harmonisation. Wassim is a graduate telecom engineer from Supélec (Paris, France) and holds a master’s degree in wireless communications from the Systems and Signals Lab at Paris University. .
