Abstract

(the Second Boom of Home Network)
The first tele-control experiment of the world was for an oil heater control of
winter cottage in Sweden over 50 years ago. Have the needs changed to an
old fashion?
No, the needs still have not changed.
In this presentation, I introduce the first home bus boom about 20 years ago of
the world.
I was an initiator of home bus system, and engaged in international
standardization activities of home networks at JTC1/SC25/WG1. There were
many standards in past time.
And introduce a history of standardization
activities of JTC1.
Now also there are many de facto standards as a result of multi media boom.
To compare with service features of 20 years before and now, we understand
that there are some differences.
