FINAL YEAR PROJECT SCHEDULE 2015-6 COMPUTER ENGINEERING DEGREE By Monday 20th April 2015 Deadline for academics to submit Final Year Project proposals. By Thursday 30th April 2015 Final Year Project proposals will be made available online. Tuesday 30th June 2015 Students to submit their preferences. Students may submit their own proposals. By Friday 24th July 2015 Allocations of Final Year Projects should be made available online. Wednesday 16th December 2015 Submission of a Progress Report, according to procedures as established by the ‘B.Sc. (Hons.) in CE - Harmonised FYP Guidelines’. Students are requested to submit 1 (One) hard copy of the progress report and an electronic copy (in PDF format) has to be forwarded via email to either Ms or Mr Keith Cauchi Anabel Abela (anabel.abela@um.edu.mt) (keith.cauchi@um.edu.mt). EXAMINATIONS – Thursday 14th January 2016 to Saturday 30th January 2016 Friday 1st April 2016 Final Call for students to submit any requests for changes in their Final Year Project titles. Requests are to be forwarded to either Ms Anabel Abela (anabel.abela@um.edu.mt) or Mr Keith Cauchi (keith.cauchi@um.edu.mt). By Friday 8th April 2016 Monday 2nd May 2016 All requests need to be accompanied by a recommendation of the supervisor(s), prior to submission to departmental offices. Board of Studies to discuss and/or approve the students’ requests. Submission of first draft of dissertation. Students should have already started to submit first drafts of their dissertation chapters directly to their respective supervisors for feedback and corrections. By Friday 13th May 2016 Arrangements for the submission of these drafts are to be handled and arranged between the supervisor and the student. Deadline by which Supervisors would have given their feedback and any corrections that might be requested from the student. Friday 27th May 2016 Submission of Spiral Bound copies. Three (3) spiral bound copies are to be submitted to either Ms Anabel Abela (Level 1, Block B, Room 22) or Mr Keith Cauchi (Level 1, Block B, Room 33) . In case of a co-supervisor an extra copy should be submitted. An electronic of the Final Year Project documentation should be included on a disc with every spiral bound copy submitted. EXAMINATIONS – Saturday 28th May 2016 to Tuesday 30th June 2016 Submission of abstract for ICT Exhibition Brochure. Submission of a Review Report. An electronic copy of the report (in PDF format) has to be forwarded via email to either Ms Anabel Abela (anabel.abela@um.edu.mt) or Mr Keith Cauchi (keith.cauchi@um.edu.mt). Submission of slide presentations. Students are to forward their Final Year Project presentation slides in Microsoft PowerPoint 2010 format via e-mail to either Ms Anabel Abela (anabel.abela@um.edu.mt) or Mr Keith Cauchi (keith.cauchi@um.edu.mt). Final Year Project presentations / demonstrations take place. Further details will be forwarded in due course. Submission of a Poster. The poster will be used in the annual ICT Exhibition. Students are to submit their poster to either Ms Anabel Abela (Level 1, Block B, Room 22) or Mr Keith Cauchi (Level 1, Block B, Room 33) strictly by NOON. External Examiner’s visit. Selected students will be asked to meet the external examiner for a one-to-one interview. ICT Final Year Project Exhibition. More details will be given in due course. Submission of Hardbound copies. Students are to submit two (2) Hard bound copies (three (3) in case of a cosupervisor) and three (3) electronic versions on discs of their Final Year Project documentations, which shall include a signed declaration of authenticity, to either Ms Anabel Abela (Level 1, Block B, Room 22) or Mr Keith Cauchi (Level 1, Block B, Room 33) strictly by NOON.
