About the Career Special Note Medical Assistants are Certified Nursing Assistants who have completed an approved training program and have received additional certification to administer medications and perform nonsterile treatments in a Skilled Nursing Care Facility in Wisconsin, following the policies and procedures of their organization. They perform the delegated function of medication administration under the supervision of a registered nurse. Routes of administration include oral; topical; eye, ear, and nose drops; vaginal; rectal; transdermal; and oral inhalers. Applicants need to have recommendations from their current employer and have a minimum of 2,000 hours as a Certified Nursing Assistant with at least 40 hours working with the residents who students will work with during clinical experience.
