Strategic Direction
TTA understood key framework functions of NGN
are well developed
Current developed standards are enough to
support “Managed IP delivery in terms of QoS and
Security”
But TTA believe NGN should be an infrastructure
for various services and application
 Not only for typical Telco oriented services such
as Voice, Data and Video streaming
 But also for dynamic Information services such as
using Web based, P2P, Distributed mechanism
and enterprise related

Challenges
Standards should show clear path to use them, but
current NGN standards are not
NGN should well equipped following capabilities:



Integrated Identity Processing
Service delivery and control with Context aware
Support 3rd party providers
NGN should practically support convergences




FMC is one of target, but the level of supporting services are
not yet mature enough
Currently FMC allows normadism and handover between
different mobile accesses (e.g. between 3G and 2G)
In the case of IPTV over NGN, many of functions are still not
enough to build up “Fully Open IPTV” for supporting real
“Prosumer Environment”
NGN standard does not show how to utilize NGN for other
industries such as Vehicle, Robots, Health, Education etc.

Next Steps/Actions
More efforts on the study of Service Control and
Delivery aspects
This study scope is the critical point for ensuring
compatibility of services over NGN with end-end
aspect
More detailed development to support
convergences (e.g. support seamless handover
with what service and what level) should be
stressed
Use cases and service scenarios should be the
focal point to show how to utilize NGN for e-life
