ANSI HSSP Mission

To identify existing consensus standards, or, if non exist,
assist the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and those
sectors requesting assistance to accelerate development and
adoption of consensus standards critical to homeland
security. The ANSI-HSSP promotes a positive, cooperative
partnership between the public and private sectors in order
to meet the needs of the nation in this critical area.

The Panel supports the work of the DHS Science and
Technology (S&T) Directorate’s Office of Standards.

 Comprised of Government Agencies, ANSI SDOs, non-ANSI SDOs,
Companies, and five at-large seats, and past Co-Chair
Full Panel
 Approximately 100 organizational participants; open to all affected
interests; brought together via Plenary meetings
Workshops
 Address specific homeland security issues; objectives are typically to
identify existing standards and conformity assessment programs, gap
areas, and make recommendations for addressing these gaps.
