In the United Kingdom, the

Structural changes
In the Bolivarian Republic
of Venezuela, the Ministry
of the People’s Power for
Telecommunications and
Informatics (MPPTI) has been
abolished under Decree No. 6.707.
Its powers have been absorbed
by the Ministry of the People’s
Power for Science, Technology and
Intermediate Industries (MPPCTII).
The duties previously performed by
MPPTI vis-à-vis ITU now fall under
MPPCTII.
The Administration of the Republic
of Fiji announces that the
Department of Communications
is now under the Ministry of
Public Enterprises, Tourism and
Communications.
Radiocommunication
Assembly (RA-12) and
World Radiocommunication
Conference (WRC-12)
As a result of a consultation
with ITU Member States, it has
been decided that the next
World Radiocommunication
Conference will take place in
Geneva from 23 January to
17 February 2012, preceded by the
Radiocommunication Assembly on
16–20 January 2012. In addition,
the agenda of WRC-12, as set out
in Council Resolution 1291 (MOD),
has been approved.
