Boren Scholarship

Funding: Up to $20,000/year or $10,000/semester
Eligibility: U.S. citizen; undergraduate not graduating
until after Boren funding period; planning to study in
an eligible world region (Africa, Asia, Central & Eastern
Europe, Eurasia, Latin America, Middle East); planning
to study a foreign language
Service requirement: One year of work for the federal
government after graduation, department related to
national security
Deadlines: speak with an OCS advisor for specific CMC
and scholarship deadlines
Gilman Scholarship

Funding: Up to $5,000
Eligibility: U.S. citizen; undergraduate student; Federal
Pell Grant recipient (at time of application and during
study abroad); receiving academic credit; country of
study not restricted; minimum of four weeks
Service requirement: Upon return, recipients must
create and execute a “Follow-on Service Project”
Deadlines: early October (spring); early March (fall,
academic year, summer);
BUTEX Scholarship

Eligibility: Undergraduate study in the UK for at least
one semester at a BUTEX-affiliated university

French Embassy Benjamin Franklin Travel Grant

Funding: Up to $900
Eligibility: sophomores, juniors, seniors; French dual or
double major, or minor in French; juniors or above;
travel grant to France for academic and professional

Richard and Mary Butler Award – CMC Only
Funding: varies, usually $1,500-$2,000/semester
Eligibility: CMC student in good academic and judicial
standing with demonstrated financial need (already
receiving financial aid); no prior travel outside of North
America
Deadline: semester prior to study abroad
Wagener Family Awards for Sophomore Study Abroad
– CMC Only
Funding: $2500
Eligibility: CMC students approved to study abroad
second-semester of sophomore year in a non-English
speaking country; eligible for need-based financial aid;
cumulative 9.0 CMC GPA
Deadline: early November
AATJ-Bridging Scholarship

Funding: $2,500/semester; $4,000/year
Eligibility: U.S. citizens; study in Japan for credit that
will transfer to CMC; Japanese language study is not a
prerequisite

Funding: €650/month, plus additional funds to defray
costs of travel and health insurance
Eligibility: Sophomores and juniors; study in Germany
for one semester or one year; strong academic record
and personal integrity; German language requirements

STA Travel Start The Adventure Scholarships
