This form allows the exchange of information between the partnering institutions. All information is shared through a secure, web-based database. Dropping a Course If you need to drop a course you must drop the course in iSIS for the drop to be official. You must notify your Campus Coordinator (gpideacc@ksu.edu). If the course has begun you must also notify your instructor AND the Campus Coordinator at the teaching university. Refunds for tuition will be based on K-State’s drop deadlines. Grades Some universities participating in the Great Plains IDEA consortium give plusses and minuses (A-, B+, B-, etc.). These grades will be translated as a straight letter grade when posted on your K-State transcript (i.e., an Abecomes an A; a B+ becomes a B, etc.). The Great Plains IDEA grade translation matrix: http://www.hsidea.org/students/policies-forms/ Incomplete Grades An instructor can issue an incomplete for unfinished course work to allow a student to complete the course, but this work must be completed before the end of the following semester. If it is not, the K-State system will roll the “I” on your transcript over to an F. If you take an incomplete in a course taught at another institution, it is your responsibility to follow up with that instructor to make sure the work is completed, and that your grade is sent to K-State for posting on your transcript. Program of Study All Graduate Students must complete a Program of Study after the completion of 9 credit hours. Guidelines for preparing this form can be found at http://www.k-state.edu/grad/students/preparemasters.html. Contact the Campus Coordinator for additional assistance in this process. Transfer credits must be approved by the student’s supervisory committee and the Graduate School. Final Examination/Project All K-State Graduate School students are required to complete a final exam or project during the last semester of study. Final Exam Guidelines for each program can be found at www.k-state.edu/ksugpidea within your specific program page. The Graduate Student Handbook is available here: http://www.k-state.edu/grad/graduate_handbook/index.html **Please note: The K-State Graduate School requires that students maintain a 3.0 grade point average. E-Mail Your K-State eID becomes your K-State email address your eID@k-state.edu. All communication from the university will be sent to your K-State email address. If you do not plan to use this account for email, you will need to forward this account to the email address you check most often http://eid.k-state.edu It is your responsibility to keep this contact information up-to-date by changing your password and maintain your forwarding email address. It is recommended that you use your K-State email account as your link between K-State, your instructors and yourself. Often other accounts hinder communication because many course messages are distributed to students as a listserv. These account providers filter these messages as a potential virus and/or dump them into junk mail. General E-mail Tips The following are common issues and suggestions: If you change your email address make sure you update your Campus Coordinator. Check your Spam and Junk Mail folder for course messages Include a subject line in all email correspondence, especially mail sent to Campus Coordinators and instructors. We receive a high volume of mail, and sometimes a lot of junk, so are likely to delete message if there is no subject, especially if we do not recognize the email address/name. When taking courses through this program, communication is a shared responsibility. You should plan to check email regularly for messages from your instructor(s) and home institution. We recommend a minimum of twice per week.
