VACANCY – ESF PROJECT COORDINATOR Pending the approval of ESF project ‘Innovation Leaders: Improving knowledge of direct EU funds’, a vacancy for the post of a Project Coordinator has arisen within the Malta Business Bureau (MBB). Through the project, the Malta Business Bureau aims to create a Learning and Exchange network to develop individuals in EU direct funding opportunities within the ambit of Horizon 2020, Erasmus+, and Creative Europe programmes. This Network will revolve around training individuals to identify how direct EU funds work, potential project opportunities, funding streams, the filling out of an application, and project implementation and reporting. Such training will be done through the organisation of a variety of workshops and the dissemination of interactive training material. Main Duties/Responsibilities The Project Coordinator will be in charge of the project’s coordination and administration, including: project management and monitoring, communications related work, processing payments, and liaising with the project’s partners and contracted party / parties. These tasks will be directed towards ensuring the successful implementation of the project. The Project Coordinator will report directly to the MBB CEO and Project Leader as well as liaise with the other members of the executive team. The Project Coordinator will be expected to: - Conduct the day-to-day duties of the project’s coordination and administration, and act as Project Contact Person; - Liaise with the project stakeholders including the project partners, Contractor(s) and participants who would be trained throughout the project lifecycle on an ongoing basis in order to deliver the expected project outcomes according to plan; - Ensure that the project is implemented in line with the EU and local regulations, ensuring adherence to public procurement regulations, publicity requirements, reporting requirements and any other regulations of relevance to this project; - Effectively communicate project’s deliverables in a timely and clear fashion; - Draft and deliver progress reports, and any required documentation on the commitment of expenditures and performance of the project; Operational Programme II – Cohesion Policy 2007-2013 Empowering People for More Jobs and a Better Quality of Life This call is being considered for European Union part-financing European Social Fund (ESF) Co-financing rate: 85% EU Funds; 15% National Funds Investing in your future - Input data into the structural funds database and conduct administrative tasks including scanning and proper filing of documentation; Track project milestones and deliverables of the project and oversee quality control throughout the project life-cycle; Qualifications and Experience: - Be in possession of a recognized degree (NQF Level 6) Have 2 (two) years work experience in project coordination and administration. Knowledge in EU affairs and experience in ESF related projects will be considered an asset. Skills: The applicant needs to: - Be able to work under minimum supervision; - Possess good time-management and presentation skills; - Be capable of reaching set targets within established and agreed performance levels; - Be task-oriented with ability to handle several on-going duties with professionalism & accuracy; - Be a person of integrity, outgoing and assertive with excellent communication and interpersonal skills; - Have proven analytical skills; - Possess excellent communication skills in Maltese and English; - Be able to work well and participate in a team environment. Contract and Salary The selected candidate will be offered a full-time 12 month contract. Upon successful completion of the project, the contract can be renewed in view of ongoing EU project applications submitted by the MBB. The position comes with a salary of EUR 19,500 per annum.
