◦ This dashboard is a view of the unit census with columns to
show:
 Pt. demographic information ( including security codes)
 Ancillary Orders – initially just RT and EKG
 If the ancillary has been paged automatically by the
system (or do they need to notify them)
 A place to make notes for MR or Charge RN to see
 Future plan to pull in specific data from Teletracker re
travel method etc. (once entered in Teletracker)




Moving to a completely paperless system
Will stop the printing of ancillary requisitions (e.g.
RT requisitions, EKG requisitions, Radiology
requisitions, etc.)
Will continue to need to see those orders and
interact with ancillaries as appropriate
Therefore, we needed to come up with a way to
notify you of these orders
The New MR Dashboard
You can find the MR dashboard under the Dashboards list in the black menu
bar of StarPanel. Click Ancillary dashboards to expand the list and select MRAncillary.

protocol. S=page sent to RT and you do not need to call them.
Green=Routine order and Red=Stat order. Follow your unit’s protocol
for notifying the heart station of new EKG orders. In the future, we
hope to have automatic notifications like RT does, but for now this
indicator serves to notify you of new orders.
Green=DC appointment has been ordered and CAS has already made
the appointment. It also includes appointments scheduled in EPIC.
Yellow=There is an order for a DC follow-up appointment, but no
appointment has been made.

Why are we doing this?
◦ We are gradually moving to a completely paperless system and will
lose the ability to print ancillary requisitions (e.g. RT requisitions, EKG
requisitions, Radiology requisitions, etc.). Therefore, we needed to
come up with a way to notify you of these orders.
How did you come up with this dashboard?
◦ A few months ago we gathered the requirements for this dashboard
from a group of medical receptionists representing multiple
departments from across the medical center. We took their feedback
and have implemented some changes and are still working on future
enhancements. We anticipate that as this is used across the entire
medical center, many of you will have additional feedback that are
unique to your area’s workflow. We expect this and will be continuing
to work to improve the product after implementation.
Do I still need to call or page the Heart Station when I see that there is a
new EKG order?
◦ YES! The EKG technicians do not have the automatic paging system
like Respiratory Therapy does yet, so you will need to continue to call
or page about EKG’s like you do in your current workflow.
We Look Forward to Hearing From You!
We anticipate that as this is rolled out across the medical
center that you will have questions or feedback about the
MR Dashboard. CAPS representatives will be rounding to
answer questions and take this feedback. You may also

Services.
