Areas of Practice
Steve Winters leads the intellectual property and complex transactions practice for the Firm. He
advises companies of all sizes, including startups and publicly traded companies, as well as individual
developers and inventors with regard to the creation, acquisition, management, monetization,
licensing and enforcement of all aspects of intellectual property. He also advises clients on data
privacy and security, e-commerce and online transactions. Steve has consistently been named one of
The Best Lawyers in America®, and has been named a “Washington Super Lawyer” by Super Lawyers®
magazine. He is a frequent speaker on intellectual property issues, presenting on topics such as
license agreements, copyrights, patents, trademarks and trade secrets.
Prior to joining Lane Powell, Steve was a Partner in the Seattle office of Riddell Williams P.S. He also
brings to the Firm seven years of experience as the Director of Research and Strategic Planning for
Bozell Worldwide in Los Angeles, an international marketing and advertising agency headquartered
in New York.
