Legal Notice 215 of 2005 – Malta Government Gazette No. 17,780 – 17 June 2005 EDUCATION ACT (CAP. 327) Health Professions Course Syllabi and/or Programmes of Study Regulations, 2005 IN exercise of the powers conferred upon him by sections 30 (5) and 31 (6) of the Education Act (Cap. 327), the Chancellor of the University of Malta has promulgated the following regulations made by the Senate of the University of Malta by virtue of the powers conferred upon it by sections 31 and 35 of the said Act: Citation 1. These regulations may be cited as the Health Professions Course Syllabi and/or Programmes of Study Regulations, 2005. Applicability 2. These regulations shall be applicable to courses commencing from October 2003 onwards. Course Syllabi and/or Programmes of Study 3. The syllabi and/or programmes of study related to courses leading to an award that gives access to the professions of: (a) (b) (c) (d) (e) Medical Doctor Dental Surgeon Pharmacist Nurse; and Midwife shall conform with the minimum training requirements established by the relative European Union Directives namely: Medical Doctors: Dental Surgeons: Pharmacists: Nurses: Directive 93/16/EEC Directives 78/687/EEC and 78/686/EEC Directive 85/432/EEC Directive 77/453/EEC 1 Midwives: Directive 80/155/EEC and with any other Maltese legislation governing the granting of permission to practise the relevant profession in Malta. Repeal 4. The Health Professions Course Syllabi and/or Programme of Study Regulations, 2004, published as Legal Notice 268 of 2004, shall be deemed to cease to be in force as from the 1st October 2003. 2 Hlth Prof Regs-2005 27.5.2005 3
