Title: Standardization and Current Status of Broadband Wireless Access Technologies in Japan Biography (max. 200 words): Kiyoshi Hamaguchi received B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the Science University of Tokyo, Japan, in 1989 and 1991, respectively. He also received Ph.D. degree from Osaka University, Japan, in 2000. From 1991 to 1993, he worked for Anritsu Corporation. Since 1993 he has been with the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) of the Incorporated Administrative Agency (formerly the Communications Research Laboratory, Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications), Yokosuka, Japan, where he has been engaged in research, development and standardization of digital radio mobile communications and multimedia wireless systems, especially millimeter-wave systems. From 2002 to 2003, he was a visiting researcher at the University of Southampton, UK. Dr. Hamaguchi is a member of IEEE and IEICE.
