Survalent Technology Commissions New SCADA System for North Arkansas
Electric Cooperative
MISSISSAUGA, ON — May 4, 2010 — Survalent Technology, a leading provider of smart grid solutions
to utilities, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition
(SCADA) system for North Arkansas Electric Cooperative.
North Arkansas Electric Cooperative serves approximately 35,000 member accounts in Northern
Arkansas. With over 4,500 miles of power line and 25 different substation sites, North Arkansas Electric
Cooperative provides electric service in parts of seven different counties. North Arkansas Electric
Cooperative is headquartered in Salem, Arkansas and operates two other full service offices located in
Ash Flat and Mountain Home.
The new system features Survalent’s highly available, dual-redundant, open-architecture system based
on Windows Server 2008. It includes Survalent’s MultiSpeak 3.0 real-time interfaces for Engineering
Analysis, Outage Analysis, GIS, Load Management, and batch GIS import.
The system was also commissioned with Survalent’s WebSurv solution, a powerful application to serve
real?time SCADA information to users via web browser, and without the need for custom installation or
maintenance.

The system was purchased through Survalent’s industry partner National Rural Telecommunications
Cooperative (NRTC). “Our partnership with NRTC allows our cooperative customers to purchase within
