GENOMIC MEDICINE WHAT IS GENOMIC MEDICINE? Genomic Medicine integrates the understanding of gene interactions and environmental factors as they contribute to human diseases. The Division of Genomic Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at UC Davis applies this information to improve health care outcomes for both ADULT and PEDIATRIC patients with genetic/genomic disorders through diagnostic testing, clinical care, education, and research. WHO WE ARE Our team of 4 clinical geneticists and 5 licensed and certified genetic counselors are available to help navigate the complexities of new genomic technology such as Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) and multiple gene panels in our outpatient Genetic Counseling clinics, Genomic Medicine clinics, or our On-Call service. HOW WE CAN HELP Evaluate appropriate genetic, genomic, and/or biochemical testing strategies or alternatives Identify available laboratories for testing Determine insurance coverage and/or preauthorization Pretest counseling Discuss and obtain informed consent prior to testing Result interpretation, disclosure, and counseling Identifying family support resources and services Management, treatment, and care coordination for genetic and genomic conditions Referrals in EMR can be routed to “Genomic Medicine” CONTACT US Our clinics are located at the MIND Institute 2825 50th Street Sacramento, CA 95817 Inpatient Consult and Clinical Inquiries Pager (916) 451-0112 Scheduling (916) 703-0317 Fax (916) 703-0350 UC Davis Referral Line (800) 4-UCDAVIS (482-3284) Website www.ucdmc.ucdavis.edu/ pediatrics/ourteam/ Genomic_Medicine
