OBJECTIVES OF THE CONFERENCE
The objectives of the conference are to:
• Develop and discuss orientations in tourism that promote the attainment of
lasting economic and social development, giving due attention to environmental concerns.
• Facilitate exchange of ideas between scholars and practitioners in the field
of tourism
• Issue a statement for policy-makers and others involved in tourism, with
the aim of promoting sustainable tourism.
• Publish a book on sustainable tourism
STRUCTURE OF THE CONFERENCE
The conference will be structured as follows:
• The first day will be dedicated to presentations by invited experts on themes
related to sustainable tourism.
• The second day will be mostly dedicated to parallel panel sessions on different aspects of sustainable tourism.
• The third day will be dedicated to reports from the parallel sessions and the
drafting and approval of a final statement.
• The conference will also have a social programme consisting of group
lunches, reception, gala dinner and an excursion with guide.
REGISTRATION FEE
Early Registration:
• US$540 if payment is effected by 31 January 2006 (10% discount of full
fee)
• US$180 for an accompanying partner sharing room with participant
Normal Registration fee:
• US$600 if payment is effected after 31 January and before 30 April
• US$200 for an accompanying partner sharing room with participant.
The fee covers:
• Full conference participation
• Four-night stay in a 4 star hotel
• Gala dinner
• Daily transport from hotel to venue
• Excursion with guide
• Reception
• Transfers from and to the airport
• Coffee/refreshments during breaks

CALL FOR PAPERS
Prospective participants who wish to present a paper at the conference are
to:

• Submit an abstract of about 200 words by 31 March 2005
• Submit the full paper of about 6000 words by 15 April 2006
Authors are to format their abstracts and papers in line with the guidelines of
style, which could be obtained from the conference secretariat.

Notes to applicants:
Cancellation Policy: Once payment is effected, it can only be refunded if the request
for refund is received before the closing date of application indicated in this form. Only
50% of the fee will be refunded if the request for refund is received after the closing
date of application and before the commencement of the conference. No refunds will
be made if the request for refund is received after the commenencement of the
Conference.
