Change (NASA)
This solicitation is focused on two major themes: 1) Synthesis of prior Land Use and Land Cover Change studies and 2)
Vulnerability, Impacts, and Adaptation
(VIA), as related to climate interactions with land-use changes around the world, for example addressing the vulnerability of current land use systems and related social systems and their adaptability to climate variability and change and other major global stressors. Amendment 5 narrows down the VIA theme to a single land-cover type—wetlands—and adds emphasis to the social science component of this program element for both
Synthesis and VIA themes. For a proposal to be competitive, it must include a social science component., Note that the remote sensing component is a necessary attribute for each proposal.

43-7 Talent Search (TS) Program
(ED)
The purpose of the TS Program is to identify qualified individuals with potential for education at the postsecondary level and encourage them to complete secondary school and undertake a program of postsecondary education. TS projects publicize the availability of, and facilitate the application for, student financial assistance for persons who seek to pursue postsecondary education and encourage persons who have not completed programs at the secondary or postsecondary level to enter or reenter and complete these programs. The Secretary encourages applicants to propose projects that provide services to students enrolled in schools that are not currently being served by a Talent Search project, especially schools that the State has identified as the persistently lowest-achieving schools.

Training Project Grants (T03) (CDC)
The National Institute for Occupational
Safety and Health (NIOSH)/Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) invites grant applications for Training
Project Grants (TPG) that are focused on occupational safety and health training and on research training. NIOSH is mandated to provide an adequate supply of qualified personnel to carry out the purposes of the Occupational Safety and
Health Act of 1970 (pub. L. 91-596, 84
Stat. 1590), and the TPGs are one of the principal means for meeting this mandate.
TPGs are programs at institutions that provide training in the core occupational safety and health areas of industrial hygiene (IH), occupational health nursing (OHN), occupational medicine residency (OMR), occupational safety (OS), as well as other closely related occupational safety and health (OSH) fields.
Applicants proposing training programs in allied disciplines closely related to
OSH must contact the program administrator identified in this announcement to discuss the concept and its relevance to

The CART (Coins for Alzheimer’s
Research Trust) Fund encourages exploratory and developmental Alzheimer’s
Research projects within the United
States by providing support for the early and conceptual plans of projects that may not yet be supported by extensive preliminary data but that have the potential to substantially advance biomedical research. The fund is support by Rotary clubs with assistance from the American
