Early Modern Forum Conference Support

Information:

The Early Modern Forum is offering funding towards, and administrative support for, conferences being held at Warwick University in any discipline or interdisciplinary combination, in the field of early modern studies (c. 1450-1850).

The funding, of up to £1000, can be for any purpose involved with the conference. Examples would include: travel costs for a keynote speaker, funding a wine reception, paying for postgraduate assistance with podcasting or administration.

The Forum will host a conference web-page and provide administrative assistance where necessary.

This may include receiving abstracts through a web-form, dealing with correspondence, booking rooms, catering and accommodation, and assisting with all digital elements of the event.

Priority will be given to applications which meet any or all of the following criteria:

Involve contributions (whether physical or virtual) from our partner institutions: the

Sorbonne, Yale, Vanderbilt, Boston, the USC-Huntington EMSI and the Huntington Library.

Intend to either stream sessions online, or have papers delivered from elsewhere.

Will provide digital outputs or projects in the form of podcasts, on-going post event discussions on the Forum, or developing a collaborative project which makes use of the

Forum.

Application instructions:

All members of academic staff and graduate students are eligible to apply. The conference must be held between 1st November 2012 and 1st November 2013.

We expect applicants to also seek funding elsewhere, and will provide assistance in drafting and submitting applications.

A condition of the funding is the provision of a written post-event submission detailing the event, for inclusion on the Early Modern Forum’s webpages. It is expected that podcasts and/or informal written outputs will also be hosted on the Forum.

The deadline for the first round of funding is 31 st October 2012. Depending upon the strength of applications, further rounds may be offered.
