Previous This file was created by scanning the printed publication. Mis-scans identified by the software have been corrected; however, some errors may remain. Acknowledgments The authors would like to thank the participants of the three panels — the Tribal Panel, the Eastside Panel, and the Upper Basin Panel — who gave their time and effort to understanding the project and offered their perspectives on social impacts of the alternatives. The comments and discussions of panel members were an invaluable source of data in helping to understand peoples' concerns and issues. We encourage readers who would like more detail on the panels' discussions to read the detailed notes from each in the Bolle Center Report, on file with the ICBEMP office in Walla Walla. Statements, fall 1995). Due to changes in the look up tables (classification of cover types to cover type codes) used for the latest CRBSUM model vegetation predictions, the current year baseline was changed when the model was initialized. However, this new modeled current year will not be reported since this would change the baseline and many other analyses that have already been completed. The project time line did not allow sufficient time to redo all previous work. The overall impact of using the old current baseline is that differences between alternatives and current hectares may appear to be larger than they should be. NA=Not Applicable hectare=2.47 acres 4 'Agricultural / Developed Lands-include crop/hay/pasture lands in both agriculture and closed herbland structures. Physiognomic Types were used for classification in this table rather than structures, which resulted in more hectares in agriculture than was calculated in McCool and others (1996). The "current year" data portrayed in this table is from an early version of the alternatives (preliminary draft Environmental Impact Statements, fall 1995). Due to changes in the tables (classification of cover types to cover type codes) used for the latest CRBSUM model vegetation predictions, the current year baseline was changed when the model was initialized. However, this new modeled current year will not be reported since this would change the baseline and many other analyses that have already been completed. The project time line did not allow sufficient time to redo all previous work. The overall impact of using the old current baseline is that differences between alternatives and current hectares may appear to be larger than they should be. 2 'Planning Areas: EEIS BLM/FS—Eastern Oregon and Washington, BLM and FS-administered lands only; UCRB BLM/FS-Upper Columbia River Basin, BLM and FS-administered lands only. 28,747,200 1,359,400 23,800 0 1.8 1,359,400 23,800 NA 1.8 Low Scenic Integrity (hectares) Percent Change from Current Percent of Region/Class Total 56,900 1 4.2 1,359,400 56,200 N A 4.1 Moderately Low Scenic Integrity (hectares) Percent Change from Current Percent of Region/Class Total 417,300 0 30.7 1,359,400 417,000 N A 30.7 Moderately High Scenic Integrity (hectares) Percent Change from Current Percent of Region/Class Total 414,100 1 30.5 - 1 32.9 447,300 1 Upper Snake UCRB BLM/FS Total (hectares) Upper Snake UCRB EEIS FS/BLM Total (hectares) 412,000 NA 30.3 N A 33.1 450,400 Current Year High Scenic Integrity (hectares) Percent Change from Current Percent of Region/Class Total Percent Change from Current Percent of Region/Class Total Very High Scenic Integrity (hectares) Upper Snake Ecological Reporting Unit UCRB Management Region BLM/FS Management Class Table 6B.2 (continued) 3,968,900 NA 33.7 1,1768,500 High / Extremely High (hectares) Percent Change from Current Percent of Region/Class Total BLM/FS EEIS Total (hectares) 6,093,500 NA 35.9 3,834,800 N A 22.6 3,455,100 NA 20.3 3,595,300 NA 21.2 1,6978,700 28,747,200 None (hectares) Percent Change from Current Percent of Region /Class Total Very Low / Low (hectares) Percent Change from Current Percent of Region/Class Total Moderate (hectares) Percent Change from Current Percent of Region/Class Total High / Extremely High (hectares) Percent Change from Current Percent of Region/Class Total BLM/FS UCRB Total (hectares) Grand Total of EEIS & UCRB BLM/FS Lands (hectares) Current Year 3,237,800 NA 27.5 Moderate (hectares) Percent Change from Current Percent of Region/Class Total 2 1,653,900 NA 14.1 Very Low / Low (hectares) Percent Change from Current Percent of Region/Class Total Entire UCRB Management Region BLM/FS Management Class 2,907,900 NA4 24.7 Current Year 2 None (hectares ) Percent Change from Current Percent of Region/Class Total 3 Entire EEIS Management Region BLM/FS Management Class 28,747,200 1,6978,700 3,595,300 0 21.2 3,547,200 3 20.9 3,980,300 4 23.4 5,855,900 -4 34.5 1 1,1768,500 3,968,900 0 33.7 3,347,600 3 28.4 1,586,100 -4 13.5 2,865,900 -1 24.7 3,237,600 0 27.5 1,653,900 0 14.1 2,907,900 0 24.7 28,747,200 1,6978,700 3,595,300 0 21.2 3,455,100 0 20.3 3,834,800 0 22.6 6,093,500 0 35.9 2 1,1768,500 3,,968,900 0 33.7 1 2,383,900 -40 20.3 4,822,800 49 41.0 1,653,900 0 14.1 2,907,900 0 24.7 3 1,1768,500 2,065,800 -48 17.6 5,140,900 59 43.7 1,653,900 0 14.1 2,907,900 0 24.7 4 28,747,200 1,6978,700 3,521,200 -2 20.7 3,529,200 2 20.8 3,834,800 0 22.6 6,093,500 0 35.9 3 28,747,200 1,6978,700 3,521,200 -2 20.7 3,529,200 2 20.8 3,384,800 0 22.6 6,093,500 0 35.9 4 Alternative/Simulation year 10 1,1768,500 2 Alternative/Simulation year 10 28,747,200 1,6978,700 3,595,300 0 21.2 3,504,700 1 20.6 3,838,000 0 22.6 6,040,700 -1 35.6 5 1,1768,500 3,968,900 0 33.7 3,275,300 1 27.8 1,627,400 -2 13.8 2,896,900 0 24.6 5 28,747,200 1,6978,700 3,173,100 -12 18.7 3,877,300 12 22.8 3,834,800 0 22.6 35.9 6,093,500 6 1,1768,500 3,838,900 -3 32.6 3,367,800 4 28.6 1,653,900 0 14.1 2,907,900 0 24.7 6 28,747,200 1,6978,700 3,099,000 -14 18.3 3,951400 14 23.3 3,834,800 0 22.6 6,093,500 00 35.9 7 1,1768,500 2,253,900 -43 19.2 4,952,800 53 42.1 1,653,900 0 14.1 2,907,900 0 24.7 7 Table 6B.3. draft Environmental Impact Statements, fall 1995).
