Route:
The 5km fun run and relay start just outside the gate of the University Athletics Track,

left to run around the ring road in the same direction as traffic flow (the ring road will
be closed to traffic throughout the event). The 2km fun run/walk starts on the ring
road just through the tunnel from the Athletics Track. Participants in the 5km events
run around the ring road 3 times, while participants in the 2km event run/walk round
once. After completing the required lap/laps, participants make their way back to the
gate of the Athletics Track, taking the same route as the start of the 5km run, and
finish the event with 1 lap around the track, stopping at the finish gantry. While there
will be signs/marshals to indicate the way, participants are responsible to count their
own laps.
The route of the relay is the same as that of the 5km run. The first runner starts by the
Athletics Track, runs around the ring road once ( approx. 1.7km) and tags the second
runner at the junction between the sports area and the ring road. The second runner
runs round the ring road once (approx. 1.25km) and tags the third runner in the same
place. The third runner runs approx. 1.25km like the second runner and tags the
fourth runner in the same place. The fourth runner runs back to the Athletics Track as
in the other events and completes 1 lap around the track (approx. 800m).
The children’s fun run consists of 2 laps around the Athletics Track (800m).
