11th Annual St. Augustine Lecture
1 November 2007
Dr. Larissa Seelbach will deliver a lecture on Augustine on Women. Dr Seelbach is a
Lecturer in Theology at the University of Würburg.
Theological Encounters
The aim of the Theology Encounters is to offer an opportunity for Faculty staff
members to share and discuss their recent research. With the exception of the first

Academic Evening in honour of St. Thomas Aquinas
8 April 2008
The evening is organised by the Theological Student Association in collaboration with
the Faculty of Theology. The guest speaker is Prof. Ludger Honnefelder who is an
Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of Bonn in Germany, the Director
of the German Reference Centre for Ethics in the Life Sciences, and the Director of
the Department of Biomedical Ethics in the Institut für Wissenschaft und Ethik in Bonn.
External Examiner

As part of the continuous evaluation of the academic programmes, the Faculty of
Theology invites annually a lecturer from a foreign university to review students’
performance in final examinations. The Faculty is honoured to have Prof. Barbara
Hallensleben from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland as this year’s external
examiner. Born in 1957, Prof Hallensleben teaches in the Department of Dogmatic
Theology. In 2004, she has been appointed by Pope John Paul II as member of the
International Theological Commission.
