Program Policy
Must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative and prerequisite GPA each semester to remain in program.
No major changes into the Pre-Nursing program during Freshman year. Must hold a minimum cumulative GPA of a 3.5 after the Spring semester to change major.
Prerequisite Coursework
Successful applicants typically earn a competitive GPA of 3.75 or higher in the following classes:

Prerequisite Course Repetition Policy
One prerequisite course repeat only for a grade substitution in the case of earning a letter grade lower than a “C”.
Cannot take an alternate course from the same area in the case of earning a “C” or higher.
Application Process
Students are not allowed to apply with courses still in progress. All eligible applicants are to be declared Pre-Nursing upon application.

Open to ALL eligible applicants.
Prerequisite courses must be completed the previous Fall.
TEAS must be completed by March 31 st .
Open to all eligible Fresno State student applicants.
(Eligible applicants must be currently enrolled fulltime in Fresno State courses at the time of application. Eligible Post-Baccalaureate applicants are to have graduated from Fresno
State. Top 10% of entering Fall Transfer Pre-Nursing students may apply via invitation.)
Prerequisite courses must be completed the Summer prior.
TEAS must be completed by August 31 st .
Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)
Recommendation: Do no take the TEAS test until you have completed at least 3 of the 4 prerequisite science courses.
Test Information
Three attempts to earn the required 75% or higher. Students will be allowed to take the TEAS beyond
3 attempts, only after 5 years have passed from the first attempt.
