Nl The University Daily, July 7, 1988 Page 4 Maynard elected VP of carillon guild Texas Tech professor of music Judson Maynard has been elected vice president of the Guild of Carrillonneurs in North Amlilrica. Maynard was elected in June during the annual meeting of the interna­ tional association at the University of California in Berkeley. Maynard, who teaches carillon, organ, harpsichord and music theory, is the founder of Tech's sununer carillon recital series. The carillon is located in the west tower of the administration building. Law school prof honored by endowment Two Texas Tech School of Law professors have been named Fellows of Banking and Commercial Law Studies. Named were John Krahmer and Robert Wood. A fund for the endowment of the Banking and Commercial Law Studies was initiated in 1987 to establish the professorships in recognition of the excellent reputation the Tech School of Law has gained in those areas. The initial endowment contribution came from proceeds of earlier Banking Law Institutes. Two law profs receive fellowships Texas Tech School of Law professor J. Hadley Edgar has been named the first Robert H. Bean Professor of Law. The Bean professorship is dedicated to teaching and research of civil law. The professorship honors Robert H. Bean, a retired district judge of the 140th court in Lubbock. Bean served on the bench from 1955 to 1970. Dur­ ing those years he presided over many major civil cases. Edgar holds a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and a law degree from the University of TexasSchool of Law.
