Dear Prospective Students
Welcome to the University and especially to the Institute for European Studies. The timetables in respect of the European Studies for the first and second semester may be viewed on:
http://www.um.edu.mt/europeanstudies (on the left hand side under Information for students).
They will be updated in due course with the venues. Other time-tables for the subsidiary and
optional study-units may be viewed on the respective Faculties/Institutes websites. Another
very important website is http://www.um.edu.mt/registrar
I am attaching for your immediate attention the registration form. You are to check the timetables in respect of your subsidiary and optional study-units at the respective Faculties. You
must check your Programme of Studies in respect of your main area which is European
Studies and of your respective subsidiary area on the following website:

under Quicklinks (top right hand side), click on Find a course. Under Select: click on
Institute for European Studies, Under Show information, click 2015/16, under Choose level,
click undergraduate. (keep on scrolling down and click on the blue icon which states "Click
here to access the Programme of Study" at the bottom). Kindly submit your registration form
at the Institute by not later than Friday 9th October 2015 by 12 noon.
To view the description of the study-units, method of assessment, etc. go to:

username and password, click on study-units database, enter respective study-unit code, click
on search, click on underlined study-unit code.
Very important meetings for the first year students taking Bachelor of European Studies
/Honours have been scheduled as follows:
On 1st October at 15.00 hrs at Sir Temi Zammit Hall - meeting by the Registrar
On 2nd October at 11.00 hrs at M.A. Vassalli Conference Centre - Gateway Building
Hall B1 - meeting by the Director of the Institute for European Studies.
Please get acquainted with the venues prior to these meetings. Your attendance to both
meetings is highly recommended. Please bring with you the time-table and the registration
form, which is available online. Kindly note that the lectures will start on 5th October 2015
From today onwards you are to check your University email account (when available)
regularly, as I correspond and send a lot of useful information via emails, including
deadlines. Please note that the Institute's Office will be closed for lunch break from 12.30 to
1.30pm. From 12th October you are to abide by the students' hours which will be
communicated
to
you
later.
Those students who have received and passed their resit results and are eligible to entry into
University, may attend the meetings and lectures, irrespective of whether you have received
the letter from the Office of the Registrar, as it may take some time to process all
applications.
The list of optional study-units is available on esims. Click on View data base. Click on
Optional study-units suitable. Click on study-units available only 2015/16. Click on ECTS
credits. I am afraid that only those students who have received their acceptance letter and
activated their University email account have access to esims.
You may choose any study-unit you wish. But keep in mind to choose at level one. Also
remember that it should not clash with other study-units. Check time-tables either on the
respective websites or on the notice boards.
