6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Heritage State Park Auditorium
200 Davol Street, Fall River
Please join the Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) at a public meeting on
Wednesday, May 27 for an update on construction progress and upcoming activities, including
traffic management changes, for the Route 79/Braga Bridge Improvements Project. The presentation
will conclude with a question and answer session.
The purpose of the Route 79/Braga Bridge Improvements Project is to enhance safety and access
along the Route 79 corridor and the interchange with I-195 and bring the roadway and bridges up to
current standards. MassDOT is removing the elevated section of Route 79 and building a new surface
roadway to connect with Davol Street and the waterfront; rebuilding the nine “spaghetti ramps”
connecting Route 79 and I-195; constructing two new roadways to connect with the waterfront;
repairing, cleaning and painting the Braga Bridge; and enhancing pedestrian and bicycle
accommodations.
