The Indian Institute of Technology will start Master of Technology (M. Tech) programme in five
streams from the next academic session.
The IIT-B on Sunday celebrated its fourth Foundation Day with Justice Markandey Katju, Chairman of
Press Council of India, gracing the occasion as chief guest.

IIT-B to offer M. Tech programme next session

Sources said M. Tech programme would available on streams such as mechanical, civil, electrical and
electronics, material science and applied geosciences and climate science.
At present, the IIT-B has six schools such as basic sciences, earth, ocean and climate sciences, electrical
sciences, humanities, social sciences and management, infrastructure and mechanical sciences.
MoU signed
The IIT-B entered into a Memorandum of Understanding for research collaboration with Warwick
Manufacturing Group of UK-based University of Warwick. Chairman of WMG Professor Lord Kumar
Bhattacharya said emphasis would be given to collaborative study on mineral resources in which
Odisha was rich.
The MoU would foster exchange of faculties and students while extending partnership in the areas of
service security, entrepreneurship management, healthcare, and service management and design.

As per the agreement, the WMG would help create science park over an area of 400 acres on IIT-B's
campus which is coming up at Arugul on the outskirt of capital city. The State government has allotted
936 acres of land for the institute.
Earn ACCA in Birmingham
Prior to signing of the MoU, Surjit Banerji, executive director of post-graduate programmes of WMG,
visited the IIT-B during November last and laid the foundation for the partnership, IIT sources said.
